Sparks Fly When Subaru Fans in Morristown Turn the Engine Over

“Tune up” is one of those phrases that’s become so ingrained in our culture, it’s easy to forget that it actually refers to a specific process when it comes to auto maintenance. Many components of the basic tune up, like setting the engine timing or adjusting ignition points, have become outdated. Swapping out the plugs and wires, though, is still a crucial part of every tune up here at our Morristown Subaru service center.

A tune up is one of the most basic, and also most important, maintenance procedures for your vehicle. You should be on a schedule for your tune ups based on your vehicle and driving habits; our team can help you decide how often this process is necessary. If your vehicle is misfiring or running roughly, though, then you might be past due!

Checking Out Your Plugs and Wires

Under the hood of your Subaru, you’ll find a few car parts that are central to your tune up. These include the distributor cap, spark plug wires, and the spark plugs themselves.

At one end of this set up, you’ll find your distributor cap. From here, you can trace a spark plug wire to each of your spark plugs. It’s a good idea to check each of your wires (be sure to shut your car off before performing any inspections or maintenance). Check your wires for cracks or bare spots in the insulation, as these can lead to a missed or weak spark.

Next, take a look at your spark plugs by pulling the boot of the wire off of each plug and removing them with a spark plug socket. We strongly recommend doing this process one plug at a time, as not to mix up the order of your wires. If your plugs appear white and oily or overly sooty, you’re probably due for a change.

If you’re unsure about the state of your plugs, or if you think there might be a more complicated issue leading to trouble with your plugs or wires, then our experts are here to help! Be sure to contact our Subaru repair shop in Morristown online or to call our team at (866) 910-3466 today.

Subaru Aims to Bring Madison area Drivers the Safest Options for Adventurous Pets

Driving with pets

No matter where they’re headed, Subaru drivers have an overwhelming tendency to enjoy a bit of exploration along the way. From a quick trip to the park to a road trip across the nation, there’s nothing like seeing where the road leads – and what lies beyond it.

At our Madison area Subaru dealer, we also know that our four-legged companions make some of the best co-pilots when it comes to adventures. After all, there’s no one who’s more excited for a car ride and a hike than Fido!

Unfortunately, not all drivers have the best safety gear for their pets available when they take them out on the road. Subaru is eager to change that.

Partnership with Center For Pet Safety Offers Independent Evaluation of Pet Safety Products

The automaker recently confirmed that they will continue their partnership with the Center For Pet Safety (CPS), which began in 2013. Through this sponsorship, CPS is able to complete independent crash worthiness studies on different pet restraint systems, crates, and carriers.

Madison area Subaru dealership

By combining a reliable harness or carrier with the existing safety features in the new Subaru models at our Madison area showroom, drivers can help to protect their pets as well as themselves in a collision. Over half of all drivers travel with their pets, and that number is even greater among Subaru drivers, so this is certainly good to hear.

Michael McHale, Subaru’s director of corporate communications, said, “We want to make pet parents aware of proper safety measures they can take to help protect their pets. Following the previous study with CPS, we were delighted to support this next stage in testing… We feel a sense of responsibility to inform pet parents of safety measures they can take.”

Memories Come Rushing Back for NJ Subaru Drivers

2016 Subaru models in NJ

Subaru is an automaker that’s founded in the spirit of adventure, and that includes all of your favorite journeys. While symmetrical all-wheel drive makes these vehicles perfect for tearing through the mud on your way to your favorite campgrounds, family drivers know that these comfortable cabins are just as adept when it comes to enjoying life’s quiet moments.

In the brand’s latest ad – the first to include a 2016 model – highlights just how much these vehicles can carry. Drivers at our Subaru dealer in NJ who have taken their favorite model on a road trip already know that there’s plenty of space for gear, but this time it isn’t cargo that we’re talking about.

Instead, director Noam Murro showcases a father’s look back as he prepares to pass his old Forester down to his now-driving aged daughter. While Gregory Alan Isakov’s “Time Will Tell” plays, the dad cleans out the items that have been left behind in the car. As he remembers each moment of his daughter growing up with the car, the scenes play out behind him.

While this certainly showcases the way that a dependable vehicle can play a key role in a family’s time together, it also showcases the Forester’s longstanding reliability and popularity; as the commercial closes, we get a glimpse of the father’s new 2016 Forester ready and waiting in the driveway.

Longevity Shines with the Subaru Lineup

Lasting value and dependability are certainly among the traits that draw shoppers to our NJ Subaru dealership, as motorists can see from the advertisement. The Forester is particularly remarkable, thanks to its notoriety as the longest lasting compact crossover in America.

For 2016, the Forester continues to deliver on all of the features that have set it apart from the crowd. With 32 mpg on the highway, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and symmetrical all-wheel drive, this crossover is the perfect choice whether you’re commuting to the office or exploring a brand new trail.

Working Toward a Greener Future for the Next Generation

Subaru and the National Parks Service

In our role as a trusted Subaru dealership, there’s one thing we’ve learned firsthand about Subaru drivers: no two are quite alike! From solo adventurers to fun-loving families and with plenty of unique personalities in between, the only thing that all of our drivers have in common is a love for exploration.

As such, it’s easy to see why Subaru of America is so committed to sustainability and protecting the environment. The men and women of the United States National Parks Service share the same passion, and now our two organizations are coming together.

Subaru Focuses on Sharing Knowledge and Experience

In 2003, Subaru’s international plants became Zero Landfill. This designation means that none of the automaker’s plants send anything to landfills or incinerators; every resource is reused or recycled in an effort to minimize environmental impact.

The following year, Subaru was recognized as the first manufacturer in United States history to achieve this status. In the decade since, the company has learned a lot. Now it’s time to share that knowledge by working with the National Parks Service to help our nation’s parks achieve the same status. This process will begin with three of the United States’ most beautiful areas.

Yosemite National ParkOne of California’s best known natural areas, Yosemite was among the first areas to be considered for the National Park status. Since becoming part of the agency’s jurisdiction when it formed in 1916, the park has continued to attract enthusiastic visitors from all over the world.

Composed of cliffs, valleys, and old-growth forests, Yosemite continues to represent the very spirit of the National Parks Service. With over 675,000 acres of designated wilderness area, the beauty of this park is undeniable.

Grand Teton

Grand Teton National ParkThe highest peak in the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains, Grand Teton is an environment known for a wide array of wildlife. With placid lakes, brilliant peaks, and beautiful valleys, this park is as picturesque as they come.

Captivating views abound for adventurers here.

Denali National ParkOne of Alaska’s eight national parks, Denali is well known around the world as the home of North America’s highest peak, Mount McKinley. Wonder Lake awaits those who choose to traverse the park’s single service road. Remote and peaceful, this park highlights the contrast between calm glaciers and thriving populations of plants and animals.

While these three remarkable parks will be the first to benefit from the partnership between Subaru and the National Parks Service, they only represent the beginning of what promises to be a long and fruitful relationship. The effort we all make today will be reflected tomorrow, and we look forward to the blossoms that these seeds will create.

To learn more about Subaru’s efforts in these breathtaking parks, as well as the company’s efforts closer to home, be sure to contact Subaru of Morristown online or to call our team at (866) 910-3466 today.
